AF47 Africa A very pretty map of the whole continent with attractive colouring of countries and tribal areas. There are more than a dozen such areas across the Southern Sahara and others on the West Coast and in Central Southern Africa. This makes it interesting from an Ethnographic viewpoint. The downside is that on very close inspection it is clear that there have been pencil lines under many place names which have since been erased and which may well not show behind glass. There are also a few scuff marks. The price has been reduced to take note of these defects. Edward Stanford 1882 27 x 32 £8
AF53 Africa A fine large map of the continent with attractive colouring of countries and tribal areas. There are more than a dozen such areas across the Southern Sahara and others on the West Coast and in Central Southern Africa. There is still a complete blank in central equatorial Africa. A few very light scuffs in the Oceans and well thumbed outside the border, otherwise in very good condition. Bartholomew/ A&C Black 1873 42 x 54 £12
AF58 Africa A majestic map! Includes Madagascar, the Cape Verd, Canary and Seychelles Islands. There are more than a dozen tribal areas indicated across the Southern Sahara and others on the West Coast and in Central Southern Africa. The centre is blank except for the words: Probable Direction of a Great Mountain Chain. South Africa includes Kaffraria and Griqua Land. Superb hand-colouring in outline as issued makes this a beautiful map which is in very good condition. Keith Johnston 1861 57 x 44 £50
